I can't wait to hear about what you are reading this summer and to share the books I read this summer with you. You can see some of the books I have already read for the summer of 2023. If you click on the pictures it will show you the full cover of the book. I can't wait to tell you all about them when I see you. I have some more books I want to read before the end of the summer so check back to see what else I have read. Here is a great resource for finding some great new books to read.
Below you will find two of the driving philosophies of my teaching and in my classroom. These are my words and my thoughts. If you like them and want to borrow them I just ask that you please give credit where credit is due. Thank you ♥️
MY Philosophy on Failure
In this classroom....
We do not fail.
Instead...
We try
We take academic risks
We challenge each other
We support each other
We discover ways that do not work and continue to work towards finding the solution
We learn from our mistakes
We persevere
We have empathy for others
We are do our best to stay positive

My Growth Mindset PHilosophy
Keep your toes on the edge
We love to feel comfortable. We love doing things we are familiar with, but that is not where the learning takes place. We need to learn to become comfortable with challenging situations, new information and different skills. Learning and growth happen when we keep our toes somewhere on the edge between comfortable and challenging.
Intelligence is like a muscle. The more we use our brains in new and different ways, the more it grows. The more we practice with it, the stronger it gets. The more we push it’s boundaries the more we learn how much more we are capable of.
